Planning Essentials

Best time to visit: October to March is the most comfortable window for Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, with cooler days and clear skies. April to June is hot; the monsoon (July–September) brings humidity and occasional heavy rain, especially further south.

Visa: most nationalities need a visa to enter India; many are eligible for the e-Visa issued by the Government of India. Check current requirements for your nationality on the official Indian visa portal before booking flights.

Currency: the Indian Rupee (INR). Cards are widely accepted in hotels and larger shops; carry some cash for markets, tips and smaller purchases.

What to pack: modest, breathable clothing for temple and mosque visits, comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, and a light jacket for winter evenings (December–January can be cool at night in Delhi and Jaipur).
